Types of Guns That Will Save You On Reckoning Day
You can stock up your armory, basement, or bunker with all types of guns, but there’s no guarantee all of them are going to keep you alive. Sure, you’ll have all of the assault rifles or the handguns, but how effective are they in certain conditions, like say close quarters? In this article, I am going to show to you the different types of guns that will help you when doomsday comes or when SHTF and explain the reason why you need to have them. Check them out and choose the right one for you.
The Rifles – For Perimeter And Versatile Protection
Rifles are good for two reasons: perimeter and versatile protection. I am going to divide them into two categories: the assault rifles and the long range rifles. Assault rifles are able to dish out hundreds of bullets per second, so it’s good for crowd control. Meanwhile, long range rifles are intended for perimeter security. Those scopes and bullets can do some real damage from afar. Below is a short list of rifles with staggering firepower.
The AK 47 is one of the most popular assault rifles in the world, together with the AR-15. This rifle is used by military units all over the world and is known for its durability. One can basically expose the rifle in extreme conditions and it would still fire. Talk about being reliable.
Ruger 10/22 Rifle
The Ruger 10/22 is the king of .22 long range rifles, at least on my list that is. The reason why it’s just so good to have around is because it’s good for securing small and medium-sized game, and it’s got quite the range in it too. It’s also really quiet, so prey will never know what hit them.
Bushmaster Carbon 15 M4 Carbine
The Bushmaster Carbon 15 M4 Carbine is small, light, and very durable. This assault rifle is made in the tradition of AR-15 rifles combined with modern features like the space-age Carbon 15 composite molded receivers.
Henry Arms AR-7
If you want to talk about survival rifles, the Henry Arms AR-7 long rifle is the real deal. It may not be as powerful as the other rifles nor is it as capacious as the Ruger or M4. But the AR-7 takes the cake with its convenience. You can pack the barrel, magazines, and receivers inside its water-tight stock and carry it around with you. Assembling the rifle is like assembling LEGOs.
The Handguns – For Concealment And Convenient Carry
Handguns are, without a doubt, the most convenient weapons any doomsday prepper should have in their arsenal. Handguns come in different sizes, but they’re usually small enough to carry around in a bag, purse, or even holster it around your waist. Check out this short list of the best handguns that can be extremely reliable when SHTF.
This may look small, but this “small” pistol right here fires a .45 caliber bullet. It packs a punch, so to speak. It’s a really slim pistol, making it great for concealment and weighs 27 ounces with a full mag of 6.
Now if you want something bigger, then the Glock 17 is the Glock 36’s big brother. Along with the Sig Sauer, it’s a popular choice of handguns amongst police officers and members of law enforcement agencies. The weight is slightly heavier than the 36, but it’s designed to be heavy to manage the recoil. This makes it one of the most accurate pistols in the market.
Sig Sauer P226
This is probably my favorite handgun for a lot of reasons. First, this is the gun carried by police and other members of law enforcement, so you know it’s got some power despite its size. It’s compact and very light, weighing around 34 ounces with a full mag. On top of that, it retails for $900. You are getting your money’s worth for this handgun.
Of course, I am not going to avoid revolvers for this list and the Taurus Judge is the best choice. The Judge is capable of shooting both .410 and .45 Long Colt loads, making it perfect for close quarter combat and self-defense. It’s big so it’s not exactly fit for concealed carry, but hey, its presence is enough to send a message.
The Shotguns – For Broad Protection And Close Quarters Combat
I appreciate the value of having a shotgun by my side when doomsday comes simply because they do so much damage despite limited range. Take for example, you’re in a corridor and these mutants/zombies/hoodlums come running right at you. A handgun can only dish out so many rounds before they overrun you, but a shotgun messes them up real badly. One shell can effectively take out multiple attackers within a confined space, and shotguns can carry around 10 to 12 shells, depending on the model. Below is a short list for shotguns to consider having before doomsday comes.
Mossberg 590 Mariner
I love the 590 Mariner, mainly because it’s a 12-gauge shotgun capable of carrying 9 shots. The stock can be switched for a pistol grip, making it awesome for closed or tight spaces. This bad boy right here can also be tricked out with accessories. Did I mention you can get it for $500 retail?
Now, if you want something more powerful and more reliable than the Mossberg, then the Remington 870 is everything you need. It’s got a smooth pump action and can fit an extension tube to hold 7 shells in total. The Remington 870 is perfect for both hunting and for tactical operations.
Benelli Nova Pump Tactical
The Benelli is a name recognized by shotgun owners, and like the Remington, they’re very reliable and powerful. The gun can use 2 3/4-inch loads and 3 1/2-inch magnum loads, and every caliber in between. Talk about flexibility right there. The only downside is that it carries only 5 shells, but at this point, 5 shots can drop any perpetrator.
These guns are on the list for many reasons. They can protect you and your family, they can help you secure game and put food on the table, and they can help reduce, eliminate or neutralize possible threats. Regardless if its doomsday or just an ordinary day, we can never be too sure for a perpetrator or an intruder may strike anytime. And when that situation arises, these bad boys are surely worth having.
